            The club's original fundraising project was the Southland Regatta, a world renowned hydroplane race held
            annually on Lake Maggiore.  The club promoted this event until 1988 when the condition of the lake was no
            longer feasible for such events.

            In 1990, the club started Ribfest, which came to be known as the premier event held in Vinoy Park in 
            St. Petersburg.  Ribfest retired after 30 years and raising over $4.5 million dollars to help children and families
            in our community along with countless other community projects.
